In this section, we present our innovative approach to playful and gratifying literacy instruction: ludic language pedagogy. We explore the significance of each term, illustrating the diverse range of objects and literacies they encompass. For instance, “ludic” extends beyond digital games to encompass various playful elements and modes of expression (such as board games, card games, sarcasm, playful workseets, etc.). We also establish the groundwork for the following three chapters of the book, where we thoroughly examine each of the three central concepts, enhancing your understanding of ludic, language, and pedagogical literacies.
